The much anticipated, and ultimate step for the FIM Quadcross Championship has happened.
Just days before the recent FIM Awards Gala in Lausanne, the proposals to upgrade the EMX Quadcross Championship to World Championship status were approved and signed off. This is the most significant development in the history of this young sport, and truly recognises the effort invested by FIM Europe and all the National Federations participating over recent seasons.
A provisional nine-round calender is announced, with those races mirroring the FIM Sidecarcross World Championship calender.
There are races in all three of the Baltic countries, with Gdansk in Poland the first of the nations visited on the north-eastern leg.
Kicking off in France at Castelnau de Levis in April, the season closes back in France with the traditional SQXoN Nations competition.
It is hoped, and indeed anticipated, the new status will attract countries from outside of Europe, just as we have seen huge support from the USA and Argentina in the end of season team event over several years.
The individual World Championship gold medal is the prize, with all the glory and prestige that brings, and the distinct possibility of further rounds in far-flung places in the years ahead as the sport grows in stature.

Now known as the FIM Quadcross World Championship, the provisional calender is included, with all further news and updates here on www.fimsidecarcross.com and www.emxquad.comalong with all our social media platforms.
